Went to my local BMW dealer to try the XR. It was the full spec bike , and as good as it is , it's just not for me.:(
Why not try the GSA LC said the salesman ...... BIG mistake , I absolutely loved everything about it , and to my surprise he offered me good money for my TC.
Panniers for the GSA are a bit of a sticking point in the deal, the BMW ones are bloody expensive, and there doesn't seem to be any give from the dealer to help the deal along . Any advice in good after market ones appreciated .
Then there's the colour....... Blue, white or camo..... Decisions decisions !

Holan Nomada panniers and mounts look to be good. Examined them closely on a pal's LC - can't find any fault.

I have the green one. But they all look awesome and amazing road presence.

You can have just as much insane fun as the XR, plus it will reward you on those big miles

I have Zega Pro panniers then a rack for each bike.

So the panniers will fit on

F800 GS
KTM 690
When I had a GSA had the same panniers on that bike.

You missed out "riding experience" for the full trifecta ............. :blast

I test rode the XR yesterday whilst my F800GS was being serviced. It's a great bike but horribly floored by the vibration in the bars. Seat was poor, but IMO most OEM seats are.

The brakes and acceleration were very good as was handling, in fact everything apart from the vibration was very good. The seat can be fixed, but I think the vibration is a fundamental issue, which I'm surprised BMW didn't sort before launch, maybe they couldn't.

I would not swap it for my Mulitstrada.

You get what you pay for with luggage, the BMW system is great, one key and is fitted and removed in no time. I'm found the price unpalatable too and bought ARD Cases, which have been great. Given time again, I'd get the BMW pannier frames fitted and wait for luggage to show up on here.

There's a new Touratech Zega Mundo pannier that's a bit cheaper than the Pro's or you could buy a second hand set....................!:thumb
