Wobbly Wheel..Is It Tyre Slime?

Whilst at Hilltop the other day I noticed Geoff had a tyre that he'd taken off a bike that still had slime in ....

As the tyre stands, the slime is at 3 O'clock (or 9 o'clock!), but it had turned into a congealed sort of deep veined thrombosis and had stuck to the inner wall. So the wet towel analogy wasn't so far off :rob :D

The pic doesn't really show it to well - but this lump of slime is a couple of cm's thick and about 15 - 20 cm's in area and would certainly weigh enough to feck yer front wheel at speed. :thumb2

Slime Gone and Wobbles Gone Too

Took the wheel back to the original fitter and had the tyre off and slime cleaned out. Verbally abused by said fitter :rob
Tyre re-fitted, balanced again, wobbles gone and all is well in the world again.
I may have used too much of the stuff but anyway I won't be using that brand of puncture prevention again.:thumb

Dan balances my new tyres the old fashioned way at Adventure CycleWorks in Fairbanks, Alaska, just before taking on the Dalton Highway. :thumb

The simple solution is to take the slime out and get the bike upto 90 and see if the problem persists,
I had the same issue and the slime definitely casued wheel shake violently at around 80mph,
Another factor is that the slime causes the rubber to disintegrate, which is potentially dangerous. I wont go near the stuff.
