Hi I have a 2008 RT and just had a new set of tyres Conti road attacks, they were balanced but when going fast and straight 80+ it feels like the wheels are 50p shaped, as soon as you are on corners it feels fine, any suggestions?

Yes, Take it back and get them to re-check it!

Could be a bad tyre or poor balancing or other bad things :augie

I've always found Conti Road attacks to be a good tyre, so something isn't right. I'd check the pressures first (36F, 42R) then as suggested, back to the tyre supplier.

"wobbly when going straight" sounds like me with my dodgy hip.

I once had a similar issue with a front Pirelli Scorpion on a KTM 990A, the tyre had to be replaced.

Years ago I had this problem with an Avon Roadrunner. To cut a long story short, I rode it to Avon in Melksham and they confirmed the tyre had a twist in it. Replaced tyre and inner tube (the good old days :rob). Completely cured the issue.

I also agree with Martin above - check tyre pressures are 36psi on the front and 42 on the rear.

Let us know what happens :beerjug:

Well returned to fitters put back in balance machine and the weights have gone walkabout!! Does not one explain to me why it felt ok when on corners but hey it now feels ok all the time. Thanks all

Balance weights should not budge if correctly applied. When I first started using Automoto Racing at Manor Farm. Bellerby, Leyburn for my tyres a few years ago I was intrigued to watch as the guy sprayed the rim weight position with some stuff from a aerosol can. carefully wiped off the excess then applied the required weights. As well as a degreaser the stuff also removes any polish which can cause weights to become un-stuck. It's a 50 miles round trip to Automoto for me but worth it to watch a very careful fitter at work. Never had a problem. Recommended.

I've had dodgy front Conti tyres on the r1200gsa which gave the same symptoms
