Quick question, brother in law has just bought a 2017 R1200R LC , it is a TE model and has all the bits and pieces fitted including the Wonderwheel but it has not got a BMW sat nav mount fitted .
I always assumed that the Wonderwheel was fitted as part of the sat nav preparation (either new or after purchase) or as standard on a TE model (it was on my 3 GSA LC's).
Does that mean if he fits a used cradle and mount and a Nav 5 it should work with the Wonderwheel with no further programming ?

You could buy the bike without sat nav preparation.
Does he have the navigation option on his screen?

It is one of the models that does not have a tft screen (same as my 2018 model 1200gsa they were an extra cost option) , with the standard screen as far as I am aware the Wonderwheel does nothing except work the Navigation system bmw clocks.webp

Ah ha. Sorry, I can't help in this case.

Well think I have answered my own question, plugged the bike into my GS911 diagnostic and the Wonderwheel is recognised as being fitted to the bike and fully functional in all of it parameters .
So bike must have been fitted with the cradle either from new or some time in the past and it has since been been removed , I have a spare cradle and will plug it in and try my own Nav 6 to make sure it is fine before he buys one
