:( Just clicks
Checked the battery(odyssey)pc535 seems fine voltage wise
i have no extras electrical wise
two months ago one of the coils went, so replaced new
ideas guy?
Help

Its nowt to do with the coils.

Voltage is not a very good indicator of the battery state.
Measure voltage whilst trying to start.
If it drops right down without much result - its flat. Maybe fecked.

Easiest way to check is just to use jump cables. If it starts ok - its your battery.

Sounds like similar to an issue i had. the clicking was the starter relay under the seat, corroded contacts, re-terminated contacts and sorted.

i have replaced the starter relay.
the clicking is coming from above the starter area i think?

has anyone had the FPC fail what are the symptoms?

I have replaced the starter relay.

Did you inspect the relay socket and wiring for corrosion, or check continuity ?

Checked the starter motor terminals are tight and not corroded ??

Tried pulling the starter relay out of its socket then seeing if the clicking sound is still apparent when cranking??? (thus eliminating the obvious)

I would try touching a "hot wire" as a bypass of the relay circuit between the battery +ve terminal and the starter motor pilot terminal briefly to see if the starter spins over:

If not cranking, the problem is not the pilot circuit via the starter relay. If it does spin over then the pilot circuit is at fault.

My guess is that it still won't crank, and your battery is fecked. Just because its an Odyssey doesn't mean its infallible.

When the FPC fails, the bike will still crank over but not fire due to no fuel pressure from the injectors.

i have had the starter motor off and dismantled and cleaned though there was no sign of corrosion anywhere i have tried the hot wire but to no avail.
took the battery out and put the multimeter on it again and it only read 11.36:(
now i also tested an old battery before the odyssey and it read 11.46 :(
hmmm

Your battery is either flat or fekked.

Static voltage, as someone already said, is no indication of battery health.

11.36V (with no load) is too low for a fully charged battery. Switch on the ignition and switch to High Beam to get some load on the battery. What is the voltage now? Does it quickly start to reduce even futher?

Start the engine (use a jump lead from a good battery - your car, maybe?) and let it idle. What is the voltage on the battery now? Increase revs to 2-3k rpm. What is the voltage now?

Sounds like the battery to me,if not and you want a 2nd opinion let me know as this is the type of work i do on cars and trucks..:thumb2

1200 so headlight will only come on with engine running I'm afraid but checking voltage with the attempted start is the answer. Anything less than around 10v when trying to crank indicated new battery or a recharge is required.

Always look for the easy check first. Battery. You dont need to take it out to check it. But it's a pity you've already had the starter out and the battery out and...
B a t t e r y. New one. Take Aberdeen Angus' advice.

Hundreds, nae thousands. It (along with corrosion, final drive failure and EWS warnings) is the cause of much angst, it being a premium priced vehicle to be taken around the world.

Bike won't start, nor run. Everything else outwardly normal. No fuel goin' in, see?
