Road: After meeting up Gary and I rode over Clee Hill, Craven Arms & Church Stoke, stopped for Big Biker Breakfast at Harry Tuffins. Headed off to Welshpool, then towards Bala.

Gravel: We left the B4391 to the first few lanes which were mainly poor/broken tarmac & gravel with lots of water around.

Grass: The lane was fairly slippery and rutted with a couple of deep puddles (the home-made snorkel - vacum tube and plumbing fitting, pushed into the air intake maybe a bit OTT, but having flooded the engine when the bike was a month old, better safe than sorry! - What a stupid place to put the air intake on an Adventure bike!!)

Road: The last lane brought us onto the A5 near Llangollen. Rode back to Worcester via Oswestry and Church Stretton.

Being new to the BMW GS it was enjoyable to have a good road ride, taking in some lanes that would not have been that challenging on a trail bike (which has to vanned everywhere as not enjoyable on the road). I'm sure the bike is very capable on more challenging lanes - not sure about the rider!! May wait until it gets a little drier to avoid getting bogged down in the meantime will get some more practice in on the easy stuff!

Thanks to Terry (KTM525EXC) for the advice on suitable lanes as I had only ridden my KTM in the area a couple of years ago.

Awesome shots!!

Great to see people taking advantage of the great weather.

Any chance of sharing the GPS route?

I'm just north of Cheltenham so if you're ever looking for a riding buddy, let me know. :thumb2

It's nice to see a properly sorted 12GSA in the thick of it

Nicely thought out mods!

It would be great to have the company of such an adventure rider with us on our next mini adventure.

I've posted a couple of pictures of your ex-DRZ Nicky's getting on with it really well, she's an adventure rider in the making.

I used to ride my 1150 adv off road , a lot, but it was too much of a beast to ride with an hp2 and so I swapped to a ttr 600

there is plenty of stuff to ride them on but my favorites are the strata florida and the two just above aberdovey, these tracks do need to be ridden in summer though

give them a try

and try to get to the Baskerville gathering in May, we are putting an off road route together for that :aidan

great to see the bikes out there

Rob
