The plan was set, using work as a spring board a couple of days on the bikes was the goal.

Sorted so met up at Woodbine Cafe at Hope for the first days ride on Friday morning, a damp grey start in Derbyshire.

First coffee of the day was drunk and away we went, first target was Chapel-en-le-Frith then the A624 to Glossop then onward to Torside Reservoir, touched the Woodhead Pass and came straight back off towards Holmfirth.

One of our goals was to ride a gentle green lane, so we headed to Huddersfield, and a quick stop at this tower that commemorates Queen Victoria's silver jubilee.

From here it was a few hundred yards to our chosen byway.

It was an easy one, and both the F650GS and the Tenere handled it without fuss (really enjoyed it).

From here it was up onto Saddleworth Moor.

Then onto Hebden Bridge and round Keighley, through Adingham, and a stop for coffee and cake at Bolton Abbey. As we left the cafe the heavens opened, but not enough to warrent waterproofs. The roads had a lot of gravel and were pretty greasy so it was now a steady ride through Kettlewell and on to Buckden, here we bear left towards Hubberholme, a much narrower route that follows the River Wharfe to it's source.

Our next stop was Hawes at the Penny Garth for the worst cup of coffee (I think it was supposed to be coffee) I have had in a long time, won't be visiting this biker favourite again !

From here we headed to a friends house at Kendal for a well deserved evening meal and to kip on their floor.

Saturday was a damp start (it is the Lake District) but quickly dried as we headed East to Dent for breakfast, it was the morning of a fell race, so we didn't hang around too long but what a lovely area around Dent.

From here it was over to Hawes for fuel then a fast ish ride to Leyburn and up to the Manor Cafe.

From Leyburn we took the back roads down to Squires, then back to Sheffield.

Brilliant couple of days, itching to do it all again :)

Nice roads up there.:thumb I'll be back up there in the summer, for sure.:beerjug:
