World Crosser sump guard and Yamaha crash bars

I pick up my new world crosser on Tuesday with a few extra bits.
The dealer has told me that the World Crosser sump guard doesn't fit with the Yamaha crash bars which seems odd
does anyone know if this is true.

Hi Mike
I can see now that they have left off the extra crank case protection that is part of the world crosser kit.
It attaches to the sides of the sump guard.
Only two days to go!

I pick up a new S10 on 4th November, also looking forward to it. It's cracking bike that feels lighter than the 1150GS even though I know that it isn't. The weight must be carried lower.

Standard S10 with £££'s off llist, first service, Daytona heated grips and Yamaha Winglets FOC.

I've got a front mudguard extender and sump guard on the way for it. Swithering about fitting crash bars.

The first thing though will be a thorough application of ACF50 before the salt goes down (I hope).

I'm hoping to fit my Verns Worldbeaters to the bike but I'll see how that works out with the silly high exhaust. If not I may just fit racks and a set of Colebatch's Magadan soft bags as required.

The general finish seems very good, the only exception is the spokes, unless you spend more time cleaning than riding they will probably tarnish, my bike is immaculate for the 12k on the clock but the spokes are starting to look tatty when you get close up, and I reckon another year or two will have them looking tatty at a glance.
 
Just back from 4000 mile run down to Malta and back and rainstorm on Sunday cleared off the 1001 bugs splattered across my screen and helmet, so, time for its annual coat of ACF tomorrow too after its being cleaned thoroughly !!
 
Yes. Apologies that it is in metric values, but 6 litres per 100km was used . My average speed was 123 km / h ( 77 mph )
 
What I found interesting was that 6 l/100km was so consistent ! Average distance range per tank of 22 litres filled was 360 km's ( 225 miles ), and this also was pretty consistent and averaged out. I seemed to refill every 22 litres and didn't vary far from these figures. Some twists and turns on some of the swiss alps passes and Italian villages, off road in Malta and about 90% highway. Not bad really, IMO.
 
I use the bike for hacking to work a lot. Average about 200 mls into reserve...was away in scotland but was caning (within reason) the bike so didnt get an accurate read at a steady pace.
 
I managed a high of 57 and a low of 45 on my 3500 two-up mile Alps trip this year (mpg measured daily)

Low speed = loads of MPG, sounds obvious, but this holds true on Alpine passes where you often spend most of your time in 2nd / 3rd gear.

A steady 60mph will easily see me top 60mpg, but 90+mph cruising drops it down into the low 40's.

ECU flash improved fuel consumption by 3-4mpg as well as adding a sh*t load of torque in the mid-range :thumb2
