Mick,
I got my tires from the guys at BathBMW, so your local dealer should be able to help you out. Enjoy the trip -its excellent. DesertRat is a pro, so asking him about falling off is rare - if only I had a headcam for what only he and I were witness to would have made a priceless candid camera shot ! I dropped it more times than I hoped , but in such conditions , thankfully help was on hand, esp DR!

Hi Dude,

Any idea what you paid for the a front and rear? I got a price from a local supplier of £190 fitted for both wheels of course :eek lol

Thanks for the info, not sure i want to drop my WELL loved bike :( would make me cry :o Did you do any damage to your baby  Thanks for the info Mick :beerjug:

Wow thats deep shit  ok point taken in that sort of swamp yes TKCs are the only choice :eek Did you come off much Desert Rat? At least once? lol looks like i'm going to get down and dirty :thumb

Many thanks for the info :beerjug:

Once in the mud and once going to fast into a corner. Luckily there was a soft bank to hit and not a drop off on the side of the hill!!!

I'm doing the Level One course in June 07 and expressed interest with World of BM in doing the Pyrenees trip led by Chris Evans shown in the brochure for Oct 07.

They took my details and said they would get back to me but i've heard nothing.

Is anybody else thinking about this trip and if so have you heard any more details ?

For those that went this year, can you confirm that your luggage was carried every day ?

I know it was mentioned on this thread. It's just that I'm tempted to take my KTM 950SE instead of the GSA 12-at least I'll be able to find it buried in the mud alongside all the identical BMs !!

Obviously the luggage-carrying ability of the 950 is a lot less than the GSA-ie feck all !!

Pyrenees trip

Yes, Chris has a gorgeous female french companion called Yasmina who drives the van everyday with all the luggage in to each hotel, so you can ride without worrying about that. They also issue you with a laminated card with all the contact numbers on should you possibly break down or worse, get lost. On the trip we did, it seemed a natural break of groups of equally talented riders formed and rode together. There was a early riser eager group, a lazy leisurely rdier group, the cowbody gunho gunslinger group, so nothing to worry about ( one is not allowed to ride alone through the desert section ). As I mentioned earlier, a headache is reading the roadmaps. So take some liquids to drink - best is a camelbak and a dozen pegs like DesertRat got for us all to peg them onto the GSA screen. Works like a charm

Thanks for the info.

I've emailed Chris Evans, seeing as BMW don't seem very forthcoming with any firm dates/details.

Think it may have to be the 950 SE then !!!
