World Of Odd Design ….

I can also testify to its usefulness at times. Shown here as a means to prevent my F800GS falling over its sidestand when heavily loaded with luggage.

Am I right in thinking that the example shown is a working prototype, judging what I take to be trial or failed holes in the wooden cube?

Wood, MDF is particularly useful.

I used MDF to help me fabricate parts for my cafe racer. I’d go through several iterations before settling on a design, being MDF it was easy to work with and replicate , making sure that (especially) the holes were in exactly the correct position.

I’d then draw up the design, marking critical areas which had to be exact and other places less so.

I then had a friendly machinist knock the parts up.
