Dear all,

With Christmas round the corner it was today time again to ensure that those less fortunate than myself are being looked after for Christmas too.

Every year now the bikers of southern England meet in Reading for the annual Toy
Run and I have been part of this for over a decade now.

So I prepped my trusted XR400 and packed some toys and dressed accordingly at set off at lunch to get to the starting point.

A short 10 mile ride and I was amongst hundreds of fellow riders at the start.

Along the closed roads are thousands of spectators and family's with their kids to cheer us all on. Its really awesome! A friend even manage to spot me in the line of bikes...

Once we arrived at Barnados school in Wokingham its time to park the bikes and deliver the presents...the length of the queue was a first hint of things to come....

The queue got even bigger! But I manage to deliver the 3 presents I had bought. Than i had a coffee and chatted to a few other riders...

Finally this ride today was special as it was an Official Guinness World Record and therefore I am along with 1734 bikers a World Record holder!

So a great day out for a great cause! Next year I will be back, for sure!

Merry Christmas!

Lars, absolutely agree. A cracking day and yes, all for a good cause. Enjoyed the ride ... and it was good to see so many people along the say to cheer everyone. Yup remember seeing that XR400. Good man.

Fabulous day. I was on marshal duty at one of the junctions and it took nearly 45 minutes for the calvacade to go past!

There were some truly amazing outfits on show - just how do you manage to secure a full size Christmas tree to the back of a CBR 600???:bow

Great reactions too from the local folk who came out to show their support and cheer everyone on.:thumb

I think Barnados will need a very big truck to take all the presents away :clap

Great work boys, did a few myself a few years ago, sadly to cold for me to ride this time of year now.
And a world record to boot..
:beerjug:

I marshalled too. Took ages to deliver presents, well worth it though. Best out fit I saw was a Snowman heavily wraped in Led lights.

Well done you guys. :bow

Someone on our village tried to organise the same thing for Lincoln Hospital & was turned down in case infection was brought into the hospital.
They then asked if they could bring the toys to the hospital car park & let the kids come down & pick them up & maybe have a sit on the bikes. A resounding 'No'.

Good to see what can be done when people get together & put their sensible heads on.
