hammerite degreaser

i tried the cleaner from halfords and i couldn,t beleive how good it cleaned bike after three runs in snow and salt, it says on bottle ok for paint and also a corrosion inhibitor, when washing off it appears soapy,, wheels that normally have to be brushed after spraying with the likes of wonder wheels come up brand new, without any work, anyway the only trouble is where can i get some more as my bottle was in the cheap basket and there wan,t any on shelf, i e mailed co for info

How much are you paying for this stuff in the UK ? I saw it over here in Belgica for just short of Euro 18.- about GBP 12.50 in your earth money. Pretty expensive compared to any other wheel cleaner/degreaser/polish I could see on the shelves . Mind you reports are it works .....maybe the rest doesn't

Try this stuff, It's Bio Degradeable, Alkaline based and can even be used to clean fluffy animals, cleans bikes up a treat, it's called Muc-Off, you can get in Halfords if you must, but any decent cycle shop sells it as it is aimed at push bikes, bloomin marvellous it is and no mistake. It washes off with just a normal hose, using a pressure washer on a bike is generally not a good idea

Alloy cleaner

BMW Cars used to produce an alloy wheel cleaner that didn't contain any acids, worked a treat on wheels, used to be about £12.00 for 5 litres.

I have decide that the muck you lot get on your bikes will wash of with anything, coz I have tried all these various cleaners and I still need to scrub like mad to get the muck off, There is no substitute for good old fashioned elbow grease, as sold by yer granny

I might be wrong but...

...I think that the degreaser has put a very slight milky "stain" on my wheel rims.....(It's damn good though)...maybe I let it on for too long....

I doubt it is anything other than that......

I am not sure why you would want to spray a chemical cleaner on your screen at all? soapy water is all you should use up here.

I'll second that! Been using it for years, it's safe and it really works.

Get the (car) wheel brush set too. Not cheap but I've had mine for about 15 years, still going strong and there's hardly anywhere on the bike that one won't reach.

Another tip for cleaning beak protector, hand shields and system case lids, especially if they are scuffed, black Kiwi boot polish. Put it on with a cloth, let it dry and buff it up.

best cleaner that i have come across it foams up and cleans like new, i got onto hammerite and unfortunately for some reason they have stopped making it so all this is for nowt
