Just wondering if you have any thoughts on if this ring gear looks particularly worn or not. 02 1150GS 52k on the clock.
The starter and battery are both new within the last few weeks and the alternator seems to be charging ok, Volts coming through on tickover are around the 13.9-14.1V. With no massive drop awap in Volts on start-up.
When you release the starter button it sounds like the starter & ringgear are not meshing properly and clattering away.
Either the ring gear is worn or my after market starter motor is crap and should have stuck with a valeo.
