Giving the bike a clean at the weekend and noticed my pillion footrest hanger bracket is badly cracked.its a 1999 GS 1100.
Might have been a disaster, looks like it was about to go.
Worth checking yours if you carry a pillion.

I wonder whether the bike was dropped on that side, some time in its past?

That could have been a barely visibly hairline crack for some time.
