I'm looking at an extended h'way trip next year.
What mileage could I expect from a Bridgestone BT 020 (rear) on an 1150GSA ridden by a fat b@stard ( me ). Panniers, no pillion.
Constant speeds in the region of 120 - 130 km/h, for two weeks.
I got 19,500 km from the Tourance I just replaced.
I got 8,800 from a B'stone Trailwing on my 1100GS - not happy there.

All smart-@rse comments considered.
cheers

Hello Greggs. Unless you have some reason to be disatisfied with the Tourance I'd stay with them, they're a really good alround tyre and you got a lot of Km's out of them. Over 12,000 UK miles is good going!

I have 020s currently on the bike, 7k miles and they are getting a bit square at the back though still with "legal" tread.

I found them grippy enough in the dry but not as good as the tourances in the wet. Particular problems with a tar seam running down the middle of lane 2 of the A3 which I did not have with the tourances. As the rear is squared and winter is a good time to have decent tread depth I intend to bite the bullet shortly and replace both, going back to tourances. For reference, I used to get 13k + from the rear tourance, my mileage is mixed London commute and longer distance touring but (so far) very little off-road.

Tourance tyres.

How much does one get out of a front (1150 GS), mine is just about had it,
but according to my own service record It's done 19000 miles. getting thin in the middle but still a bit left. can this be true or should I ask for my money back?
Dave GS. (all I want for Xmas is adventure crash bars).

Got to agree with that statement, if your happy stick with tourances, I got between 4500 and 6500 out of the 020's when i had them fitted to my 1200gs

Ive got Battlewings on my GSA now but the front seems to be wearing as quick or quicker than the back :nenau

Shep

thanks lads

Problem solved,
Tourances for me then - dont need the drama of chasing up a replacement tyre mid-trip.
If it all happens as planned, I'll post a short report.

thank you

Just asked above question in another thread, so at the risk of becoming
repetetive repetetive I was wondering if I should change tyres from Tourances to something else.
It's nothing in particular, I just don't feel they are as grippy as 020's but perhaps it's imaginary.
Obviously we all want the grippiest and longest lived tyres.
We all have different riding styles but somewhere out there is the best all round tyre..................WHAT IS IT ? .............and where can I get it? :gosh
