Hi new to BMW's and I'm reasonably technically minded, but I've not come across 'a large inlet' as currently for sale with a k&n.
is it a replacement tube for the air intake or is it between the airbox and throttle body......

the ad stated 'K&N Filter and Large inlet £50'

a pic would be nice??

Seriously, It's a larger version of the plastic tube that runs under the petrol tank, into the airbox, the idea being that the bike will breath easier, especially when a K&N filter is used.

You do need to make sure that the mixture is not too weak though. I have a perfromance chip that allows me to select different ignition maps, hopefully, weak mixture should not be a problem.

I have used the inlet pipe's from the 1100RS they are about 2mm wider in diameter and seem to give the bike more mid range.
I run them with remus Y piece & road legal end can (can't spell exhaust) & standard air filter.

For £50 with a kn I would think it is the plastic inlet pipes that finglonger describes.

Rob describes a larger bore snorkel.
(Similar to to type I sent to the Bandit and never got paid for;)

It's the K&N and plastic tube as Rob describes.
I should have described it as air intake but copied Friends note.
The Bike is also fitted with the 1100RS tubes but I don't think he can be bothered to change them.
