Would 110K mileage dissuade you from buying ?

Personally I'd be worried re the Adventure tank and seat, unless I had a good explanation as to why they were fitted, and with what appears to be many bikes available with a full service history, I would look elsewhere.

FSH by who ??? - an bungling BMW mechanic who is working against the clock or a meticulous rider / owner who services the bike himself.... Many of the folks on this site do their own servicing and most will take far more care than a lot of shoddy dealers. What is it with a rubber stamp in a service book that makes things so much better for you ?

Ummmmmm.. I was offered about £3300 for my W reg 1150. at Vines of Guildford... was told because of the high mileage and lack of BM' service history I would loose out and it had only done about 46000 miles.... and I was thinking it was getting near the end of its life...... I might just keep until it gets to 100000 at least..lol.... its still fun to ride and is very reliable

How does an adventure tank help with short legs?, I've got the tank, good investment, but have long legs.

With fewer fuel stops you spend less time hopefully demonstrating the fact you need a step ladder to get on and off it

Also ADV tank on a stock GS means you have the fuel range without the longer suspension travel, which for a short arse means less car park dabbing and miss-haps

One BM dealer said the lack of a service history on my old 1150 knocked £500 off its trade in price. I saved over double that through servicing it myself, so I was still ahead. They offered me £3500 (1999 1150 with 40000 miles on the clock) for it, and they expected me to leave the panniers on it for that price (this was 2 years ago). I sold it privately and got £4600 for it, and that was for the bike with just the light bar and lights, H & B crash bars and Givi rear rack left on it. Everything else was sold off seperately.
