The survey's fairly short - about 20 questions.

It's for an article we do in Two Wheels Only (TWO) magazine each month called The TWO Review.

It's a chance to get your opinions and photos in the magazine if you want.

We'd be looking at the single cylinder F650 models - we couldn't include the G models and twin cylinder F650s I'm afraid.

We've done this on the R1150GS and R1200GS already - they were some of the best TWO Review's we've published. There were some really great photos, many from people on here. A big 'thank you' to everyone who took part in those.

So... would it be ok to post a link to the survey?

I'd say I'm more than happy to help, I would like to say your magazines website sucks though. Thought I'd pop over and help out and there's nowt on the website at all, either that or it makes no sense to navigate.
I'm not being an arse, this is a genuine comment.

More than happy to help out if I can fella, you'll need a centre page spread to get a picture of my fat arse in ya mag though :D:D:D

You seem to making use of our forum and giving not much back
the last one you got loads of stuff and info off the site

http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=160171

i think the least you could do is subscribe to the site

as for the last survey you gave away a helmet that was not really suited to the type of bike used... you didn't even come back and say who got helmet???

who was it anyway?

I'm not being rude but you need us more than we need you... we have likely the best internet site with the most info for the trail/offroad/touring type BMW's on the web the least you could do is when we make your job a lot easier is when you offer a prize make it suitable for the type of biking the survey was about.

Fair points. Thank you.

As for subscribing, I often mention each survey on a number of websites. If I pay (it seems about £20 for each) that adds up. The magazine won't pay so it's money which has to come out of my pocket.

As for who won the helmet, that's decided by someone who deals with products and we wouldn't post their details anywhere on the net. They might be users of this website or others and we wouldn't post someone's details up like that.

As for the helmet not being suitable, I can see that's a fair point in a way but I've owned and ridden bikes similar to GS BMWs and always used a road style helmet. I'll see what we can do about this - maybe a different lid is a possibility.

I'm sorry if this seems tight or unhelpful.

I think the articles on the R1150GS and R1200GS were very positive about the bikes which always seems like a good thing for those who own them - although GSs aren't exactly short of good PR anyway! We've mentioned the website and GS Shop in the previous GS articles too.

If people would rather not be involved in something like this, of course that's fine, we just give them the option if they do. Some people seem very pleased to have their opinions and photos in a magazine and if others rather wouldn't they can always ignore the whole thing.

Agree:thumb2

If Companies would like to ask members to complete surveys, they should at least subscribe for this 'privilige'.

I would recommend that they pay more than the basic subscription.

The members of this forum are a top bunch of people and are extremely obliging in all manners of things that strand life not only biking issues.

With forums like UKGSer, magazines are becoming irrelavant and that is why we are more than ever important to them as it is also a 'trick' to attract forum members to purchase the mag to check the survey.

So pay up!

I've spoken to one of the distributors and we're looking at a different prize gift but not sure what it is yet...

So go on, tell us, why is there no link on ya website, or of there is, where is it??

For what is supposed to be an exciting hobby/passion whatever you want to call it, why is your site so dull and boring.

Whoopee, the editors written some stuff, but there is nothing there that would make me go to the site. Your mag is reasonably good, surely you can thing of something more dynamic when you have the power of the internet and all it's moving picture wonderment :blast:blast:blast

Still don't mind helping, I don't suppose the prize is an Alpinestars or Dainese corset to help fat blokes look skinny :nenau:nenau:nenau

And their model is to sell reviews......

Personally, I think it's cheeky asking another website to provide content/information for theirs.

I love the predictability of these threads! :D

The poor blokes trying to write an article, and he's seeking the opinions of folk on here. Opinions are not normally something people around here are shy about giving... :augie
And what do you get in return for your opinions? Well, the joy of having helped a fellow bloke in his quest to earn an honest bob and provide some reading entertainment for us. Why the cynical heads all the time?

Magicalia aren't some 'fellow bloke'

And TWO isn't a very good magazine, IMO.

+1. This chap hasn't taken the rather rude step of just posting his link, he's politely asked if it's ok to do such a thing. Does there always have to be a return for simply helping out? If anyone doesn't want to take part then that's easily achieved. I wouldn't, simply because I don't have the bike in question, but I have nothing against the guy asking.
