Hi guys, have recently purchased a 2023 r1250gs from a triumph dealer and looking on closer inspection, it's got a Akrapovic silencer and a non OEM set of header pipes. The exaust servo motor has been removed and a Heal Tech exaust servo eliminator fitted. My question is, does this mean the BMW warranty in null and void. The bike runs fine, no errors on ther dash.

Advice welcome

The exhaust headers being changed 'could' be a potential problem, for some issues normally covered under warranty. I would be getting back onto the dealer asap and requesting the stock parts :thumb

They're probably at the dealership in a box awaiting disposal, now you've bought the bike :augie

Closer inspection usually takes place before you buy a bike,or is that just me?

You would be ok with the Akra can, but non BMW headers and eliminator, would negate any BMW warranty. Speak to the Triumph dealer and see if they have the headers. BMW headers are £1200. It would also be useful to know if the bike has also had any kind of ecu remap.

You could of course just phone BMW and ask :-)

Thanks for the info, would there be any way of knowing if the ecu has had a remap. I was thinking of the same idea that Jersey-gs stated and buy a second hand OEM header and servo and put them on the bike until the warranty runs out, just under 2 years. Do you know if the OEM headers are all the same on 20 - 23/24 models.

BMW dealer could tell if it’s been remapped. Would be overwritten if updating to latest firmware.

Or here's another side of the coin, leave the the exhaust setup exactly as it is, enjoy the better setup and if anything is said regarding a warranty claim further down the road play dumb as that's how you bought it from a triumph dealer...End of the day you're not a BMW mechanic now hey

For it to nullify your warranty, it would have to be related to the problem.

If your dash fails, it would be impossible to blame your exhaust. The same for suspension, wheels etc etc.

If you have problems with your O2 sensors and throttle boddies then BMW are unlikely to be interested.
