Would you buy an '04 GSA with 100k miles?

No idea on price (here in NZ it would probably cost more), but the condition looks good and based on having done 70,000 miles on mine I wouldn't be too worried about how much distance it has covered. At half the milage I'd still be figuring something might go wrong down the road, and mine doesn't give the impression wearing out.

Just another worthless opinion. Does the vendor have a good reason for selling? I'd be hanging on to go through the 100,000 but I did start from zero...

Ask on AdvRider about that particular bike....it's been owned by one of them for sure (The FYYFF sticker)

It does have some well considered and not cheapo bits on it....the indicator stalk aux light mounts are like rocking horse shit (I've got a pair and still reckon I'd get £100 for them) and the TT gear extension is ugly but superb.....the Corbin (?) seat and some other bits imply it's been an enthusiast's touring bike rather than maybe just a daily commuter, so yes, it may well be worth that much in that location.
TBH I'd want to see a receipt for a clutch change at that mileage, or I'd be building the cost into my sums.

Go ride it.....feel it, then make your mind up :thumb2

Commute on it into a major city every day. Use it on the open road every day and a clutch should easy do 200k. I know this as I've used my last two GSs for commuting into central London every day. It's the hardest use you can give a bike (other than out and out abuse). So, I wouldn't be worried about the mileage so much as the use it's been put to. If the owner used it for going into the city every day I'd expect to see the clutch had been done, as it's a big and expensive job.

I still think the price is a bit high, but I would at least look into it if I were in your position, particularly if the local market is high.

Ah, not having to drive anywhere near big cities very often, and not at all if possible that is a situation I have no experience of. Even if I do have to go to a city, I do it at a time when the traffic has eased before I dare venture anywhere near. Thank you for clarifying and giving a sensible answer.
