Just been offered an amazingly good deal on a triumph tiger 955i. only problem is im 5ft 9 and cant get both feet flat on the floor at a standstill. Does anyone see this as a problem or should i man up and just get it anyway!!!. I'm concerned about that "off camber moment" which I'm sure a lot on here have had at some stage. Alternatively can it be lowered???

Again answers on the back of a tenner, or shall i get my coat again!!!!!!!

Thank y' all

P.S. Did ask on a certain triumph forum but they must all have been busy riding their bikes or too afraid to get off in case they dropped it.........

I do, it's alright just needs abit of thinking about and confidence....:thumb2

or get a custom shock built....:D

but not a rally spec one, it makes the bike even taller...:blast

Think about how you'd feel if it was loaded up with luggage and/or a pillion...

I'd always be happier if my feet could sit mostly flat on the floor, but like the man says, suspension and seats can be modified...

Can't get both feet flat on the floor on my GSA, never been a problem :nenau

O.K. maybe once or twice :hide

I know i've got a fantastic (He means CHEAP) solution........

How about I just drop the yokes down the forks by a small amount like maybe an inch or 2. If i did this would it be likely to speed up or make the steering "interesting" and cause me to crash???????????

I did that one to mine made no real difference but I got bored and put it back the way it was. Measured the seat height at both height and the difference was far less than I thought it would be. sadly too much beer in the recent pas means I can't recall the figures...:blast

So did your HP2 actually sell in the end, or have you still got it?

Get it, ride it, just don't stop. Sorted.

keep getting offers in region 12K I like abit more, as I said in my thread I don't need to sell it.

Will only sell it if I need a QC and the Barrister can't fix the problem.

I was on tip toes on my tenere. I only had a problem if the bike wasn't on level ground and even then I may have missed a heartbeat but never dropped it.

I've never gotten both feet flat on mine... As long as I can get both toes down I'm happy... But I'm always carefull about bridging across low spots.

at 4'10" Mrs Og has never had a Bike she can get both feet down on.

scary at first - riding behind her - watching her butt slide from left to right across the saddle ready to dab a foot down.
Now, She just gets on with it. :)
She has no fear. :thumb2

Getting two feet down or not really isn't a problem on most bikes. Roynie had two 955i's before getting the Tiger 1050. He could only just get both feet flat on the ground which, in practice, meant he rarely bothered to try. Both bikes came to grief in the end, but this was less to do with teetering on tiptoes, rather about the bike being a top-heavy lump ... not a good combination. :(

The newer Tigers are infinitely better.
