would you ride a bike you cant get both feet on the floor with....

I've never gotten both feet flat on mine... As long as I can get both toes down I'm happy... But I'm always carefull about bridging across low spots.

Al...

Oh yes ... and steep cambers! I ended up pinned under my fully-laden 1200 at a San Francisco junction, putting my right foot down while I changed into 1st gear

Yeah, as others have said, just do it. There's a short arse instructor on the BMW ORC in Wales called Kevin, and he rides a GSA with no problems at all.:thumb

Just make sure you have hand guards and crash bars, so if it does go down, you just pick the thing up with no damage.

and Tamsin also an instructor, 4 ft nothing on a GSA: no problems
I just about get my toes down on the XC... keeps me alert and on my toes...

yes and do! My Tiger 955i is a bit too tall so I raised the forks through the yoke which was ok until you put it on the sidestand or try and heave it onto the centre stand fully loaded!! Now back to standard height and no issues.

Might be a stupid question, but did you try the seat on the low setting?

Yes but ... most of us don't ride like Tamsin (a competitive enduro rally participant) and the GSA is a far better balanced bike than the Tiger 955i .... IMO :nenau

Just been offered an amazingly good deal on a triumph tiger 955i. only problem is im 5ft 9 and cant get both feet flat on the floor at a standstill. Does anyone see this as a problem or should i man up and just get it anyway!!!. I'm concerned about that "off camber moment" which I'm sure a lot on here have had at some stage. Alternatively can it be lowered???

I had a 955 Tiger and yes you can easily lower the earlier pre-cast wheel 885 & 955 bikes by pulling the forks through the yokes then turning the Kawasaki style rear wheel adjusters through 180 degrees but as has already been said you will then have side and mainstand problems :blast

I bought a 2nd hand seat for mine that had been re-sculptured to suit the shorter legged. I'm 5ft 6in have a 29 inch inside leg and now ride an 06 GSA

There's very few bikes I can touch the floor with both feet. I slide over to get a single foot flat down.
Become an expert at slow riding so you rarely stop & when you're constantly looking which foot to put down first your observational skills will improve.

My only concern is gravel and wet cobblestones but they can catch anyone out.

+1 If you can get both feet down, even though they're not flat and you watch the cambers you should be OK

Like me you'll also need some luck :aidan

Best regards Stretch :D

Again answers on the back of a tenner, or shall i get my coat again!!!!!!!

Thank y' all

P.S. Did ask on a certain triumph forum but they must all have been busy riding their bikes or too afraid to get off in case they dropped it.........
Well, I finally did the deed after lots of thinking . And here she is. So far I'm on day 2 of ownership and I love it, but noticed that panniers slow it down a bit....
