Not my usual dealer, but used them once for a service as they were the only one's who could fit me in with a couple of weeks of when I was phoning... maybe I should have smelt the coffee then!!!

The actual service was ok but they jet washed the paint off my Touratech side panels, which in fairness they did offer to repaint, however they kept them for a month - I think they only got round to doing anything about it when I started chasing them after three weeks! When I did get the panels back the paint job was disgusting - peeling, cracks, orange skin effect you name it - I wrote to them about it and sent photos and never heard from them again!

Generally a very disappointing experience... complete contrast to the fantastic sales and aftersales at Wollaston of Northampton.

There you go then...

Another Wollaston fan. Don't be put off by the 'NORTHAMPTON' part of the address....quality product, quality people.

bvm stroud

clarkes-b'ham i agree with you they leave a lot to be desired Wollaston northampton very good but don't forget BVM in Stroud very very good people to deal with i should no i'am on my second GS and very pleased with their service all round:beerjug:

The Pitts!!

Worst dealer in the midlands! I've never been to such a shit delarship! I wil never return ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever again!!!!!!!

Paul Newman:barf

NEWMAN

so your not happy about clarke's then newman don't leave us all hanging gives us the shit and if it's really bad all 900+ members will desend on them on one day with plackards and portable oil drums with local press as back up and we can all watch you shoot the barstard whos up set one of the gang!!!!!!!!:shoot:

Glad to see that I am not the only person who will never darken Clarks doorstep again For obvious reasons names cant be mentioned but in my case i took umbrage with sales/after sales and the service department so now my custom for everything goes up to Pidcocks at Long Eaton even for bulbs/fuses etc
The full story is in 1 of the posts on here but basically Clarkes have lost a fair bit of trade from trying to save a few bob with me and it seems im not the only one
I wonder if this will ever get back to the dealership and how will they respond

Complain to BMW

I'd be interested to know what kind of response people have got if they ever complained to BMW

Oh come on - you of all people should know this makes ferck all difference :p

Exactly

That's my point. There are good dealers and bad dealers. BMW don't care which are which!

I complained to BMW - What I got was a load of flannel.

Basically I complained that their pannier locks are crap - Made out of the wrong material, too easy to snap(I've done it twice) and a basic security flaw.

Their response was
...we sell a lot of these and haven't had any complaints..

So the moral is - Complain or they won't know about it

Inunudate them with email etc

Clark's have been OK with me - giving me a new pillion seat after the first one flew off somewhere on the M40 when the bike was two days old and mending the front brakes after they leaked fluid all over the road(scary moment).

Like all businesses BMW don't like admitting they could be wrong and there are too many layers of people to get through until you can communicate with the right person.:p

Poor servicing

I have used Clarkes for servicing in the past but I won't be using them again in the future.

They did my 24k service last September. Before going in my 1150GS was running smoothly and returning constant 50+mpg. After it was returned it has run nowhere near as smoothly and mpg dropped to 45'ish.

I went over to Graham H in Evesham and he put his Twinmax tool on the throttles and they were miles out! Bearing in mind that adjustment of the throttle bodies is one of the important items on the service they had obviously failed to do the job properly. I have lost confidence in them and of course I now wonder what other jobs did they fail to do properly.

Thanks and goodbye, I shall go elsewhere in the future.
