Wow the price of a new fully kitted GSA !

Fucking madness at £21k
Jeez what do you expect? Thanks to Brexit, Sterling has plunged about 15% against the Euro since June last year. BMWs are German bikes and therefore, if BMW pass the full cost of this on, the price of their bikes is going to increase by 15% and the same goes for every other imported bike. Look on the bright side. If new prices are higher thats going to pull up the values of used bikes

This new pricing is complete bollocks, but many do not care. The GSA is a fab product , but £20K+is complete stupidity. There's a financial name for it (The Greater Fool Theory), but applies to people who continue paying ridiculous sums for over priced property....or BMW GS's and in case nobody's noticed, property is CRASHING in many parts of the UK. PCP's, interest only mortgages and properties now worth the same as ten years ago, gives a bad feeling. I hope I am wrong.

I don't think so -PCPs have, and will continue - to destroy the S/H market

as much as I like the rallye think I'll be keeping my current bike at them prices.
I really don't understand the logic of pricing, approx 2000+ less parts than most top end family cars and yet the same price???

In large part it's about spreading the cost of R&D, tooling, marketing etc over volume sales.

I Don't think it really matters what anyone spends as long as they're happy and they enjoy it and it doesn't hurt anyone. same applies to anything really houses, cars, clothes, travelling, you cant take it with you.

I'm lucky to have just bought a new GSA Rallye , just because I liked it really. I moved all my luggage, sat nav and extras from the old bike so all good there. Everyones right, it probably is too expensive, but bikes and cars have always been my guilty pleasure and the fight between heart and head, heart tends to win lol.

I don't like marmite, but I actually love the bike. I can understand the point about the colours on the Rallye as I normally go for darker colours. But the bike in the blue and white looks great (maybe a splash of red would have made a great union jack mix) and it makes me feel a bit younger even it is only in my head, lol :rob.

Enjoy and have fun :Motomartin:tigger

Spot on.:thumb

I bought the GSA Rally yesterday, love the bike and will be my 3rd GS.

I don't know why people knock PCP. Suits me fine. Had the current GSA 2 years, just out of warranty with 17k on the clock, so I decide to change and get a brand new one.

I don't know why people knock PCP. I know of a couple of riders who denied their bikes were on PCP, only to slip up later and mention they are!!!

Why do you think there are so many new high end cars on the road now?

Consumerism - the 21st disease or religion

We are off our tits on it .....to a greater or lesser degree

Not going to end well

I think att and his rotivator have got a point

Growing your own good is more fulfilling than the keyless fob to a new £21k GSA on a pcp

Cos people are kidding themselves that they can afford a £21k GSA or high end £50k car on a pcp when maybe they couldn't in reality

We want more because we're duped into it

Not because we need it

The curse of the new shiny toy, once the wrapping is off - we get bored with it

Old money doesn't show off with shiny trinkets like new money does

Sad really isn't it

Im not kidding myself at all.

I could afford to buy outright if I wanted, but PCP to me makes sense!

I have a £50k + car which actually isn't on PCP, I paid cash as with a car, it suited me.

I have 4 vans which are on HP, as for my business, its the right way to finance.

A lot of people have the preconception that anyone that has a bike on PCP, can not afford to buy any other way. Very wrong.

This comment highlights the misunderstanding of available funding.

Because someone doesn’t have the cash, or has it and choose not to spend it, leave it in the bank, whatever, they can acquire a vehicle with a relatively low deposit and monthly payment, with the benefit of being able to ‘hand it back’ at a set time in the future.

Someone buying a twenty one grand bike still ‘loses’ the same in depreciation the second they ride away from the dealer, but they lose real cash - the financed rider just sits in negative equity until the buy back date.

In reality, it’s often wiser to finance than spend cash.

yup, exactly!

I agree.

My Africa Twin is on PCP.

Not because I can't afford it, but because the deal was so good it made sense for me to hold it on finance.

Honda effectively paid the £2000 VAT for me, and paid the £1200 1st year depreciation for me. Then gave me a free monetary loan of 0% and only £70 per month.

Whats not to like about that?

In 3 years time I'll buy the bike and pay the balance of £6200 in cash.

I'm very happy with that. Cracking bike, cracking deal.

Ive never bought anything on credit unless it was a 0% deal. But my 2014 RT with 12k on the clock was quoted as worth 9k on trade in. My bike is fully loaded, when you look at the depreciation in nearly 4 years, PCP does seem to make sense.
