Wow the price of a new fully kitted GSA !

15k for a pre reg Rallye sport with vario panniers. 0 miles. Expensive enough at that but a comparable bargain to over priced new ones. Be worth the same in 3 years as well.

Might only be a grand or so in (if you're talking about a pre-reg gsa) it but for some that misses the point: if they're in for 15k they'd rather be in for an additional 3 grand more and get the updates - gearbox, hill hold, tft, esa ng.

If you're talking about the gs rs, then 15k for a pre-reg is too high - you could get the same level of discount on new, for the pre tft screen versions.

Whether you like PCP or not I think what it has done is allowed manufacturers to push up prices fairly quickly and then (in some cases) make people think they can still afford new(ish) cars in the same way they used to buy them outright.

There's an aspect I hadn't thought of..........

I use my company car allowance to fund a 4 series on PCP. It was pre-reg with 11k off list. If I'd taken the co car option I would be paying a fortune in tax for an insignia or something similar. What's the big deal.

I got a nice discount on my GSA too. It's worth every penny to me. I paid cash.

Bmw are clever at this selling lark. The sky hasn't fallen in if you buy something on PCP. I wouldn't entertain them with high Apr though which is where some people get shafted. Audi rates would have cost me £100 per month more than the bmw we got.

For example if you want to buy a new Skoda Kodiaq you will be faced with a 5 to 7 month wait as dealers are only being allowed limited stocks, go in and offer to buy one on pcp and apparently they are available from Skoda Uk within a few working days ?

Simple, sign up for the PCP and repay within 30days.....will cost about £20

I like the fact they are expensive, it means peasants cant buy them

If only that were true...........probably the most common bike you see on the road these days, spot lights blinding, high viz dazzling & panniers flapping away in the breeze........................

Indeed common (as they are the best Adv/tourer on the market), but still to expensive for common council folk.

I like nodding in that slightly smug way to fellow GSers.

But around 80% are bought on PCP finance (if similar to the car market and talking to dealers it may even be higher) so a) most people don’t own the bike they’re riding and b) even people from quite modest incomes can afford £200 a month. If they’re the best selling large bike in the UK it’s not all rich retired tossers!

Last Saturday 12.30pm need a pee, dealership on the road I’m on popped in more staff than customers, did I want a sausage, no thanks.

Were you asked that - when you were standing at the urinal?

Average pcp cost over 3 years gs 1200 £8k plus service and tire costs to hand the bike back or final payment to own if you bought a GS for £8k I imagine it's worth £6/7 after 3 years ? I bought an 06 GS 1200 38k on the clock £3800 sold it 3 years later 52k £3600
