Writing your on board camera movie for DVD/TV

What does the collective suggest as being the best way of writing your home made movie (on board camera) to a DVD that will play on your normal DVD player to the TV?
Just pop it in and it plays

I normally make a DVD to watch on my computer .... I don't have a normal DVD/TV player set up

I use/have ... iMac, iMovie, iDVD I have 'Handbrake' etc
