ive just picked up a 2006 wr250f which has been standing since 2007
so apart from the obvious fluids, plug, petrol and battery is there anything else i should be looking for?
Chain and tyres all Ok however has the mousses in there which have a short shelf life as far as im aware?

Mousse life is related to use as well as age. If it feels like the tyres are 'pumped up', keep them in!

cheers Greg as it hasnt been touched and the tyres are still solid i guess they are OK

You'll soon know when mousses have gone off, they go soft. Not in a puncture sort of way though, check after each ride and gauge how much life there's left.. You can feasibly still use them once they're fecked, it's like riding on a flat, without the worry of the tyre coming off. Just be careful on tarmac! (see the "cock-up" thread)
