Wunderlich complaint forthcoming?

That splicing connector he used is an accident waiting to happen..

My OCD would stop me running the wires over the computer...that means another hour trying to figure out the neatest solution . Mind you at £1000 I don’t think I’ll ever have that problem.

that scotch lock and poor quality crimped non sealed ring terminals is very poor for something costing that much, much corrosion will occur esp as "I ride all the year round"

I didn't know they were still being used - about as much use as Easy-outs.

Surprised at the connectors too.

Total shite connectors, 50p for the lot from a market stall

Ho-Hum - follow the money, from a GS rider

Over a £1000 for these 2 seats, wow

I priced up getting my Hilux seats changed to full leather, hand stitched and hand fitted for 2 fronts (with heating elements) and the rear bench seat - including headrests (5) and door trims and it was £1100 + Vat from a local (ex Connolly hide) vehicle trimmer

Seems like a bargain, in comparison

GS WC Riders - some of you are getting 'stitched' up:D

Picky bunch, aren't you! What do you expect for a grand, a decent switch and some plug in connectors? ;)

I've never felt the need for heated seats on a bike or in a car. By the nature of the materials they are made of seats are quite insulating and in a fairly sheltered position, so don't drain the heat out of your nether regions, especially if you are dressed appropriately with two or three layers. If switched on well before you first sit on the bike, heated seats may provide the luxury of avoiding the initial shock of sitting on a cold seat, but I can't see that there is really any need for ongoing heating throughout a journey. In contrast your hands are on probably the most exposed part of the bike with no insulation from the heat draining metal bars other than a thin rubber grip, unless you have heated grips - so I regard them as essential.

I was told by a company that used Gore-Tex in its products that to be effective it was all about heat transfer and so on. This is the reason I’ve never bothered with heated seats as they will work against the Gore-Tex.

As for the scotch locks and crimp on terminals, and he earthed the seats by placing the terminals on a plastic part and just relying on the threads of the bolt to make the circuit ...oh my god, what a bodge job.

As someone on here has already said, about as much use as easy-outs.

You've never had them then! I have them in my 5-Series BM and on a chilly morning they're the dog's danglies. Same as heated jackets on the bike, if you've not had one you don't appreciate how good they are.

A better solution would have been to solder the wire to the cable in the loom rather than use a scotch lock, but they are pampering to people with little electrical know how.

I notice I cannot see his rear shock absorber hanging on the wall....

Heated seats are nice but not at a grand. Thermal boxers a far cheaper option.
