Im thinking of buying one but at the best part of £150 Id be interested from those who have one. I know its wider and taller but just how much difference does it make to the bike??

Thanks

Get an MRA from Jaws... cheaper :thumb2

Do you mean the mra vario screen?? and Jaws?? is he a member on here?

The reason I want a wunderlich is to remove the body buffeting as their screens are much wider plus they have 2 metal brackets that really stiffen the screen up. Can you give me a link to the MRA screen you mean.

Thanks
Lee

Screens

They are good but break when the bike falls over, wider than standard!.

Any non-splitted screen will not do the trick for you unless it's size is GIGANTIC and it's positioned very close to you. The "conventional" screen has to be both very wide and reach above the height of your nose to kill the (wind and buffeting) noise effectively enough. Those thin and high screens don't do the trick eigter, since you get awful buffeting from the two vertical sides of the screen.

So, yes sir, as said - the best I've comed across is the MRA Varioscreen in terms of size and the blessing noise silence you get the behind the screen. Looks good too.

This screen:

Or another chance to get this kind of wind noise reduction is to buy a Parabellum or other GIGANTIC screen and look like a real US gayer :ymca :D

The choice is yours... :augie

MRA Vario

I got an MRA Vario screen from Jaws a couple of weeks ago - massive improvement over standard screen, I am 6'2" and have taller seat. Only but is that screen does flex a bit and wondered about padding out the space between the lower screen and the silver clock screen. Has anyone tried this?

I wouldn't pad it out if I were you. There needs to be a certain amount of airflow under the screen to stop a vacuum forming.

They do flex more than the standard, on my old GS I had a migsel mount on the speedo and the gps bracket supported the screen :thumb

I fitted an Aeroflow screen. Loads better than either standard or the Wunderlich one I had, even with tobinators. Only snag is, as I bought the screen secondhand, it is the standard one and I need a taller option, oh well I'll have to get a taller one.

Screenz

I've tried both of them. Big problem I have is that I'm 6' 4" and with crash helmet on add a couple more inches on that.

Standard screen may as well not be there. An MRA vario that I tried (and is now sitting on a shelf in the garage, did nothing at all. I just couldn't get it to work no matter what I tried. Tried some 'Tobinators', nicely crafted but they didn't work either. The Wunderlich screen I have just now seems to work in a fashion although I still get a fair amount of buffetting. I dont want to fit a giknackerous screen (or at least not any bigger than the Wunderlich) so I guess I'll just have to put up with it unless anyone can offer any further advice?
Cheers.

I'm also 6'4, but found the MRA to be great with no buffeting. Everyone is a slightly different shape and what works for one, may not work for another.

Have you looked at the Cee Bailey's screens? They do one which is only a couple of inches taller than standard but also wider, they also do "giknackerous" screens :thumb
