Struggling to get the 1150 gsa on full stand sometimes.

Anyone fitted a lifting handle and do they work?

Don't really want to spend £100 or so just to find out it doesn't help.

Many thanks in advance.

Maybe your technique is all wrong.

Have you tried putting all your weight on the main stand lever. If you’re heavy enough it should go up on main stand without you needing to do any lifting.

I used to have one of those expensive lifting handles. I found it a complete waste of money and sold it on. It would always swivel on the frame no matter how tight it was clamped, so never gave a solid enough purchase to hold.

Could be right about my technique.
I have just changed from a 1200gsa lc which I had no problem with to the 1150gsa.
The weight seems to be more towards the back on the 1150 hence finding it a little difficult. I have Jesse pannier rails fitted which give me something to pull on but it still seems a little awkward compared to the 1200.
Maybe I need a little more practice.
Thanks for the heads up on the lifting handle.

just goes to show but i find the handle on mine really good
it must be technique after all!

I have heard people describe this technique. I am 16 stone and there is no way it goes on the stand just using my weight. They are beasts, full stop. Just my opinion.

I have a lifting handle on my GSA. Used it for last 2 years. I find it helps... try and put all my weight on the centre stand arm, but gripping / pulling the handle at the same really helps me. My old ‘original’ 2010 Multistrada, had a flip out handle fitted as standard, and I got really used to that, and found it useful. :augie

Best thing to do get one without delay makes life much easier, don't hesitate do it now.

They don't need "lifting".

You pull the bike back while pushing your weight onto the centre stand foot plate.

Thanks for all the tips guys. It was only a thought to see if it would help.
I will put some effort in over the weekend to practise.
Cheers

I find the lifting handle helps but it's not as much help as you might hope for.
Combined with the H&B engine bar for the left hand though it is easier than using the handlebars. (No, not recommending you get H&B bars.)

You could experiment with a loop of strapping on the rear footpeg frame to see if it helps.
