Wunderlich Low Seat

Has anyone tried the Wunderlich low seat for the 1200 GS - the Vario ERGO? Their catalogue says it reduces the seat height to 810mm and I was wondering about the seat width and comfort.

i havent tried the Wunderlich seat, i fitted the Corbin comfort seat, although marginally lower than standard the reduced height is lost through the extra width of the seat forcing your legs further out when at stop, also the Corbin seat has so little tolerance to allow it to be fitted that i ended up having to grind a weld off to get the seat to lock into position in the low setting.

Do yourself a favor, check out Bill Mayer Saddles on the Web. The owner and master saddle maker is Rocky Mayer. A fantastic guy! A second generation Iron Butt BMW rider with the finest product on the market. Rocky starts with your GS saddle and reforms it into a remakably comfortable and beautiful seat. My only major complaint with my 1200 GS was the awful seat. When I rode away from Rocky's shop I rode 2 plus hours without even a squirm for the entire distance. And the saddle gets better with time. I went with a high quality leather unit. You will find the seat far better then anything Corbin offers and more reasonable. Call or E-mail Rocky he will walk you through the process. He receives saddles from all over the world reconstructs them based on your size and profile and ships them out.

One thing I've found that helps short legs is a pair of Daytona Lady Star GTX boots. They are a version with a raised heel on the inside and it makes a big differance as thats the bit of your foot that won't reach the floor!
Of course as the raised bit is hidden I'm the only one that knows I'm wearing ladies high heels on my bike !!!!!!
