Hi All,

Just got back from a nice little jaunt round europe, and hairpins at night weren't much fun, so I've invested in a set of the Wunderlich Micro Flooters, which have arrived promptly and look great ! Problem is the instructions are in german..I'm sure I'll work it out, but does anyone know anywhere I can get them in English ?

Cheers !

James.

PS - How much nicer the world looks from 2000 metres....

I have - thats brilliant, thanks. I love german words, they're just so impressively long !

Pint in the bin for you !

James.

Right then...Toolkit out, cup of tea in hand :

Bit of twiddling later, flooters are on (phew!):

One more question though - does anyone know what this plug is/does ? I'm pretty sure I didn't disconnect it, and the bike runs ok :)

Cheers !

Sorry cant help you with the connector.

Im interested in knowing if the micro lights improve visibility in night time riding? Are they worth buying?

Thanks

Ian

I'd say yes - very happy with them. They're not long range spots, but as the name suggests they're like floodlights, in the sense that that light up a larger area in front of the bike. The difference is certainly noticable.

Each light is rated at 55 watts, so its like having 2 more headlamps I guess. I'll try and take some pics at night with them on and off, so you can compare.

Got them on...well done... :)

They do make a difference at night, especially on unlit roads, plus they have the advantage of being small enough and out of the way of damage if youdrop the bike... :thumb

BTW did you wire yours up to the main beam or a separate switch?

I've got the same little green guy on the mirror stalk as you. I think they're too useful to only have on the main beam - I expect I'll have them on all the time...

Drop the bike ? Like I'd ever do that :o

right - _finally_ got round to taking to photos:

Dipped beam, then flooters on:

They look real good. However with them fitted so close to the indicators does this obscure your indicators when lit. Just as some cars now have there indicators mounted close to the headlight. So all you see at night is the bright headlight and not the fact that they are indicating?

According to people that have driven in front of me, no - but I have got the led panels which may be brighter than stock bulbs - I'll see if I can get a photo from the front for you.

Strangely hypnotic animated gif there (lights not avatar)

Couple of hours I guess including tea drinking and head scratching ! I'd say it was pretty easy, only messy bit being linking into the parking light. Remember to make sure there's not much fuel in the tank. I didn't bother removing the rubber (overflow ?) hoses - there's enough slack to just put the tank where the seat would be...

Also, if you haven't got the cockpit accessory socket, this is the ideal time to fit it - the cable takes the same route as the power for the relay and the spots - the kit only costs 25 quid, and all you've got to do then is stick a template on and drill a hole - saves dealer labour rates :-)

thanks mate, will now invest in set of them-there lights and if it took you a couple of hours then its going to take me a DAY..
god i'm lazy,, its hard working getting out of bed sometimes..lol
