I was lucky to find a set of second hand Wunderripoff mudguards.. that mount behind the engine heads..

Well was out in the rain today. and wow.. they actually work really well. They keep a lot of crap off the bike and better they keep the water off your feet and allow more heat to get to your feet.. so warmer toes..

I cannot say they are worth the £45.. but the £25 i paid.. made em top.. worth hunting for. if you ride inthe rain alot..

Wunderflaps

Glad you've seen the light I use these all the time and they are ace i'm just surprised more gsers don't use them. Well made too! Happy riding!

I have these mounted on my airhead and agree they are great but someone told me that on the oilheads the crap gets deflected up your legs leading to well watered shins ??

I've seen this in the flesh and can confirm that it's a dirty old peice of canvas that you wouldn't use for anything other than putting under an airhead to stop oil leaks staining your garage floor. ;)

Ah yeah !

I ave em on mey moto, and well am not just sure bout em.
In the wet i noticed mey boots were gettin wet from the top
down ! .In the Dry i found mey oul toe,s were a tad warm,
not uncomfortably ,but it was a coolish day ! .

Jurys, out for a while on this one.

Hmmmmmmmmmm ...

A REAL biker relishes wet feet and fingers. It shows that he's a proper man. :D :D :D :D

Very early in my Army career an old Sgt said to me when I was trying to well 'ard about the cold and wet " Son any twat can be cold and miserable" and he was right.

Staying dry..

Well i am happy with them.. i can see them being a real boon in the winter keeping some of the salt off the rear of the bike and keeping my feet warmer... and as for steptoes leg warmers.. i will stick to Belstaff gortex trousers.. with armour!..

Got em cheap.. and they are brilliant..havent leaked yet and are very warm.. possibly a bit too warm for very sunny days.. but they are not too common up here.

Do you all ride bikes in the cold and/or wet??

I thought that's what the car was for?

:D

I've used them for nearly 3 years - ace in the winter for keeping tootsies warm and dry, and I remove the actual cross bar and flaps (leaving the top bar in place) during the summer to avoid overheating the toes.

One word of warning though, if you go off road, especially in thick mud or deep ruts, they can cause real problems.

Ohhh dear..

Oohh no.. fair weather rider warning.. alert..alert... rider removal service required..

Fairweather GS owner.. poor bike..

I have to say certain weather does push me into the car.. mainly ICE.. but i ride all year.. i dont bother wth winter hacks..

I even took my GSXR out on boxing day upto the horseshoe pass in the show.. was a lot of fun.. though mighty chilli..

The GS will be used all year by me.. so hence the fitting of mudflaps.. just fitted the front mudflap from Garfield.. is a good sized piece of rubber. Bit tricky/fiddly to fit.. ie holding it inplace and drilling the front mudguard but a couple of cloths pegs help.

Now the beast is ready for the wet weather..

On a serious note I can tell you this.. riding in the winter improves your riding skills. If you ride all year you soon get used to the changing conditions and how to handle the bike when it slides. I found the wet weather riding helped me a lot in general bike handling skills..

How many peeps can U-turn their GS's.. fully laden with luggage.. on a single carraige way.. ??
