I bought one of these a month ago, http://www.nippynormans.com/product...go-pro-mount-r1200rt-lc-2014-on-wun-44600-600

It's only just better than the BMW ashtray mount, and when I left a 1star review on NN website they have not published it.

Wasn't rude etc, but they said its a stable and vibration free, but it's not and the footage is not very watchable.

Just a heads up as NN don't seem keen to show their products in a less than positive light.

I bought one. I initially baulked at the price, but went ahead anyway. In fact it is pretty brilliant. Did a 400 round trip to Wales and the footage was excellent, no vibrations at all. It is best used with the GoPro remote which I have in the map pocket on the RT tank bag. The GoPro battery only lasts for 1 hour 20m at best so with the remote, you can set the GoPro running when you see something interesting and stop it when you are just bashing out the motorway miles. I do have extra batteries, but you need to stop and remove the GoPro from the bracket to fit a new one. What I don't know is whether vibrations will loosen the GoPro screw used to secure the camera to the bracket on a long run. I might use a cable tie to attach the camera to the mount in addition to the screw.

So expensive, but to me at least worth it.

I have footage of the GoPro and also a Bullet R on the same road. I'll post the. Both next week and you can see what a stable mount looks like

FYI I have the Bullet on all the time on loop, so it is always recording, gets about 6 hours on a single 32GB card.

Also has anyone else noted an increase in wind noise and buffeting with a GoPro on the front?

I have left less than complimentary reviews on the NN site, it normally takes acouple of days for them to appear though. If you raise an issue with them they normally try to resolve it, they also have to read the reviews before they post them (its not automatic)

Bizarre! I read this negative review of the wunderkich GoPro mount and immediately ordered one from Nippy Normans! Had to find out for myself! Maybe Norman is trying some reverse psychology on us?

My experience of NN has always been positive, quick to reply to queries and when stuff went wrong they were all over fixing it for me.

Yes I have bought lots of stuff of NN and I have always had a great experience.

Hey ooop Wobble,
Had a 410 mile bimble across to Wales today so ran the GoPro. I've dragged a few clips off along with a suction mount clip montage. I can see vibration in the periperal area but not in the view ahead, but that's just the fish eye exacerbating it I believe. Was your experience worse than this matey?

Also, I didn't notice any extra buffeting or noise! At 6'6" I get shit loads anyway, still trying to source a taller screen!!

Compared to Suction mount on the fairing

Looks pretty good to me. My mount arrives today so will have a go over the weekend and report back.

Are there any other places that have been used by you guys , eg rear top edge of the panniers or any sort of clamp?
Cheers
