Just fitted one of these to my GSA...

I'm surprised how something so (relatively) small can have such a big impact...

I've a Shoei Hornet ADV (the new one) which has been unusable due to the thrumming and wind noise, the best solution I've had so far is to put the screen in the lowest position.

With the extender (mines the Wunderlich version) I can have the screen in high and visor up at 85MPH, on a return trip last night I even tried without ear plugs - this had been an absolute must before and found it OK on the motorway.

The only down side seems to be that as my helmet is more protected from the wind I seem to hear a lot more engine and road noise - not the nice stuff but the mechanical thrashing and howling.

There seems to be a lot of variables to the adjustment and although I seem to have got it good from the start I feel the need to experiment - any other positive experiences

I was the same as you, the turbulence was becoming a real pain in the ass,
Early last year I bought a puig clip on extender, I was amazed at the difference it made, one of the best things I've put on the bike.

Im happy with wind in my face but hate turbulence battering my head and neck about. I liked my TT extender on the adventure screen but for me the sweet spot was very narrow. The other issue was misting visor and no airflow to push rain drops away during wet weather.

I definitely prefer the Givi AF-330 Airflow screen over the GSA with extender. It's not as quiet as the extender sweet spot but I do get enough wind to keep the visor clear and I can now do short fast runs without ear plugs. The various noise levels demand hearing protection for longer runs. I suspect an extender could be good especially a fold-away type like the Wunderlich. Only snag is Givi really should use a thicker plastic. Their standard material works fine but if I do have a complaint it's the over flexibility of the AF screens.

Last summer I also fitted a Wonderlich extender to my GSA screen to reduce head and neck buffeting at high speed and was pleasantly surprised at its effectiveness. I agree with Bendy Toy that the reduced airflow can be a bit of an issue - I was riding in Spain and France last year during the heatwave in 40 degree+ temperatures and despite wearing a mesh jacket I baked! However, I'd rather put up with that inconvenience than prolonged buffeting and wind noise.

I've got the Wunderlich one on my S10 and it makes a big difference...I've found it can loosen itself after a while, so used blue thread lock once i'd found the sweet spot, and it hasn't moved since :thumb

Did you guys also start to hear more mechanical noise...

Not on my S10 as I always wear earplugs, but I recall sticking a fellow tossers TT screen extender on my old 09 1200 GS and immediately noticing more engine noise

I remember putting a Vario screen on my 09 1200 GS...I thought the bloody bike was going to fall to pieces!
You kind of tune out after a couple of hours and get used to it

I usually ride with earplugs as the exhaust note is surprisingly loud - Remus headers but original end can and the flappy valve is still in place.
