now lots make these type of bodge up fuel tweaking ideas, not really the right way.... if you have one fit it (anything is better than the way BMW do it...) if you are buying secondhand OK around 80 quid otherwise don't

You get given a list of preprogrammed settings for different mods and combinations of ( eg decat/just silencer/high flow filter) or you can tweak the settings yourself.
I ran mine with a high flow filter and after market can and ran the recommended settings. It made a huge difference, eliminating the 4 1/2 to 5k flat spot and pulled to the red line like it had never done before. I was very pleased with it, especially as I bought it second hand for peanuts
