Guys

I want to liberate a few more horses from my 1200 GSA so I`ve decided on the following:

Wunderlicht power controller
K&N Filter
New headers to get rid of the cat. (will keep the standard end can)

Quick question.... Having the headers made so will get the controller and filter. Will these two dynamite little items make a good difference even without the headers?

I know it will but before I part with the drinking vouchers, wouldn`t mind some advice.

Recent thinking is that a K&N will do little other than offer poorer filtration than the OE filter. I wouldn't have thought that the Wunderlich device would be able to offer much optimisation over the standard fuel map without making other changes. Im my experience, getting rid of the cat' makes a significant difference to the performance. Your Wunderlich device which ISTR is really a Techlusion box would begin to make sense then.

I'm not sure what difference each of the mods will make in isolation, but this thread http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100113 has details of the experiences with the Wunderlich Power Controller.

I'm no expert, but the word seems to be that the headers/can make the biggest difference, but may make it run a little lean (though it seems to be tolerable for the engine). The advice seems to be that, if you go for headers, can, and perhaps the snorkel mod (though that is debatable in terms of value), then you need to adjust the mixture to richen it up (in this electronic age, that's the Power Controller or similar).

Thanks Dave

From what I can work out, and I`m no engineer, if you open up the breathing it seems the power controller (Techfusion) comes into play and it`s advantageous to have it. Last thing I need is it to run lean and give long term damage as I will do some serious leg on this.

I don`t particularly want the end can because it doesn`t add any power, just noise. :augie

I need some smooth power across the rev range to really made a good engine really good and be much more rideable in all situations.

I mean it`s not bad now but I guess I just can`t help tinkering.....:thumb2
