I believe that the last US B26 to crash on Irish soil was in 1946 just at the end of WW2 it crash landed in a field at Killeanagh Gorey Co Wexford. Maybe someone local can confirm? There is also supposed to be a memorial to, two Avro Anson's and one US B26 that crashed into Slieve Gallion (Referred to in Wartime NI.). I've been up their a few times but have been unable to find it. It may be on one of the tracks on the hills rather than the access road to the communications tower.

Memorial to crew of an RAF Sunderland which crashed at Trory, outside Enniskillen in 1944

The aircraft was involved in a fighter affiliation exercise with two Beaufighters and in trying to evade, flew too low and hit an electricity pylon. Doubly embarrasing as AVM Sholto-Douglas was visiting the area that day.
