Isn't there a rubber bung/buffer that falls out of the fuel tank when you take the subframe off?

I finally got around to checking my bike today and it isn't from anywhere under the seat

Ian do you mean the rubber spacers for the rear tank mounts? Or something else?

Also I reassembled the bike today with various new bolts, but iv ended up with two spare M4 Allen bolts

Oh well, weight reduction stage 1........ :beerjug: :D

No. Where the left hand side of the subframe goes from it's lower mount upwards alongside the fuel tank, about halfway up there is a recess in the tank for the rubber buffer. I guess the rubber buffer is to stop the tank touching the subframe or to prevent vibration. The rubber part in your pic looks suspiciously like the buffer - it fell out on mine when I changed the subframe and had me scratching my head for a while as well.

Ok good idea, I shall have a look tomorrow in the light and report back!

So that bung is from the fuel tank! Next trick will be getting it on without stripping the sub-frame down again

I took the bike for a good off road shake down recently, covered around 50 miles of various tracks

The plastic radiator cap cover thingy fell off (common problem I didn't know about until now) Luckily i still have it so will drill some holes for zip ties

The oil return line, from the cylinder head to the oil tank, rubbed through on the oil tank cover while on the trail, duck tape sealed it back up, although iv got some new line coming to change it out! Will try and route it better then BMW did as well!

This has also happened......
