X challenge rebuild

...Then it's off to the paint shop black I think

Nah, go different, they're all black or white. How about Blue, or the one I saw on the web somewhere in Rallye colours or even the Gulf colours of Orange and blue :)

I was going blue then my pal had his ktm 640 In Black it looked the bollox!!! I did think blue with a red x originally .

Off to the lowlands Sunday finishing touches to the bike rack fuel tank then hypro to get my suspension set up, may get a new set of springs for the front forks, unless some ones got a set forks knocking about that I could purchase on the cheap:D. I'm glad it's all nearly done I can't say I have enjoyed doing it but I'm glad I did, I started off by knowing f###all about mechanics and finished still knowing very little :comfort ,
But if I have a problem now I'm no longer quaking in my boots at the thought of picking up a spanner and having a go, so I would like to thank all you guys who gave me some great advice and put me on the right track:thumb

Thanks a lot fellas:beerjug:

Back from holland no bike tho:tears, I ran out of time mainly due to the fact I'm pretty useless on the mechanical side of things,
I fitted rack & tank fairing etc but the lights still need wiring in and a few other bits &bobs, Erik from hotrod welding being the great bloke he is will finish it off for me I'm flying back out in a couple of weeks to pick it up, the rear shock has now been set up for me by bas at hypro another good guy , I'm also going to have the front forks sorting as well now.

I wasn't going to have the fairing but couldn't resist sealing the lights is a bastard job I thought, although if I had to do it again I'd have a better idea what a learning curved this has been:D

....... may get a new set of springs for the front forks.

You're lucky you didn't buy new springs I guess. I found some progressive ones inside when I opened your fork legs (I added the word "fork" especially here, to avoid any clever comments :))
Just hope Bas is also content with them.
The axle clamps have been machined so Bas can do his magic this week.
Build up of your fairing and electrics is scheduled for wednesday/thursday, so cu you soon

PS: Your spannering is improving but I'd take a crash course in taking pictures if I were you before you leave for Morocco :hide

Hahaha nice 1 it must have been that hertog Ian fault Erik I've booked the flight il give you call this week,
Thanks again for everything!!!

You'd better not miss that flight tomorrow

Your lady is waiting for you:
