Help, just bought an X Challenge with the TT Rally Fairing and HID lights, but the high beam ( The one one the left as you're riding) isn't working, I've bought a new bulb £35 didn't cure the problem !!!!

Any advice would be great as I'm bloomin clueless

Cheers

Steve

Ballast

Delano,

I've not come across HID before so it's all bloomin French to me, but will be checking tomorrow as I've done more research this evening

I think the TT ones have a normal bulb in a projector lamp for dipped beam and a HID for high beam. Might be wrong its been a while since i worked on one.

Normal bulb

Snowy, yes the left bulb as you look at the bike works (normal bulb) dipped I think, but the main (hid bulb) doesn't !!!

Did you get it fixed Steve ?
The hid ,isn,t a bulb as such ,its a burner ,there is a "flap",which is worked via a solenoid which cuts out part of the beam.
I expect this is where your problem lies.

Does the TT headlight assembly pick up from the original headlight bulb socket? if so it could be that the output from the high beam is not getting to the ballast.

Just been through a friends XChallenge to sort a similar problem (he has a Hot rod welding fairing and HID fitted), and that turned out to be a bad connection where the light switch looms connects into the main bike loom.

Got any photo's of the wiring layout/ light arrangement of the front of the bike you can post up?
