X challenge wheels on an x country

Is it a good idea to fit the larger x challenge wheels on the x country., what are the problems ie extending the front mudguard?,
Also can i fit the air shock on the x country and will it improve the ride quality?

Hubs are the same so axle and spacers will be fine.

I think brake disks are same diameter but best check. If the same then brakes will be fine. If not then you'll need to swap the disks over.

Front mudguard will be an issue as the x challenge doesn't have one. May be able to sort by making some bespoke brackets.

Be careful on using the XCountry front fender, it is designed for a 19 inch wheel so the curvature will not be correct for a 21 inch. You may be better getting a different one (800GS) or even swapping to a high fender. Be aware though that you will need spacers due to the routing of the brake lines under the bottom triple on the XCountry.
