X country model differences

Hi I know the is a difference between the yellow08 and black 07 x country. The yellow has a steel subfraime with welded on rear foot pegs and I think made in china. Is the any other differences ? Are the Chinese bikes as good as the Italian model ?

Seat & seat height on the Yellow 09's is lower too, as is the suspension too (forks/shock)

Finish on rear can is different, matt finish as opposed to shiny stainless

Only the engine,on the yellow bikes is made in China, under licence at the Loncin factory - bike is assembled in either Germany or Italy IIRC

Thanks for that.i didn't know it was just the engine that was from china.
So is it best to pass on a yellow one and look for a 07 black one ?
When you say about lower seat is this just because of the lower suspenshion or is the frame itself a lower design?

Unless you're short legged and seat height is a problem, then I'd deffo go for a Black'un, as the Yellow one is heavier too

I think the seat on the yellow one has less padding too, to make it lower, so you got a lower bike all round

I have the black '07 model, girlfriend Gracie on here has the later yellow '08 version. Both crackin' bikes but as JB rightly says, the black'un is slightly taller. Get the one that fits you best. The rear suspension is slightly adjustable for ride height with an adjustment nut at the bottom of the suspension unit, on both models.

Build quality? Look after either and they'll serve you well. Neglect and they'll just turn to corrosion as much as any other motorcycle

This is mine ... fully sorted. Wilber's suspension and BMW Akropovic titanium exhaust. While ever I can ride a motorcycle I will be keeping this fine example

Errr mmmm dunno Colin. Bike all wrapped up and covers tied down what with 'ere wind. There is a number on it I can get you later in the week. Have a look on the Peli site, they are all there with dimensions available
I don't need a large 'top box' the Peli is large enough for 12v socket to recharge 'phone, First Aid kit and puncture repair/re-inflate aerosol (tubed tyres of course)
