I bought a 400w unit from another bike from Magno on here. It sat around for ages and when I started to get some rectifier problems I thought it would be an ideal time to change the stator for the upgraded unit.
The guy who replaced the rectifier for me fitted the upgraded stair and gave it back.
I then got problems with the battery going flat and the voltage dropping rapidly when loaded with lights etc, but read 14.8 volts on idle.
The more you increased the revs the less voltage was produced.
I too put the old one back on and everything has been fine since!
Maybe something else on the bike needs to be changed with the stator?
Westcountry Windings near Harlow in Essex can test them. Maybe a phone call to them could clear up why the larger stator doesn't work on the X bikes.
