Y-Piece: benefits?

Reading these posts it seems that removal of the cat and/or fitting an after-market can has no effect on fuelling. Is that correct?
Is this because the injection controller compensates automatically, or what?

Right!!! It's just that I'm coming from a Tiger, and even with Triumphs own "race" can on, there's a different tune to be loaded into the ECU.
