Who else has experienced (and I'm sure many have), the overrun 'pop' from a GSA with a Y-Piece fitted. Quite loud this morning whilst 'getting on' the gas, and throttling off for my motorway exit!

Now I'm sure that an imbalance in back-pressure from the fitting of the Y-piece is to blame. Has anyone done anything to counteract this?

I know that wunderlich sell two different Y-pieces, one 'sport' version that pops, and one 'professional' version that doesn't.

Anyone know the difference in design?

Not looking to change my Y-piece, just wondering...

The trick is to get it to pop on demand... managed a fantastic rifel shot of a pop right next to a open top 360M the other night:D

You've got to blip the throttle but not to much...to around 3500-4000 revs

Whilst extending your arm and pointing in a "gun like" fashion at your intended victim :D :mcgun

The secret is to not close the throttle fully on the overun, then give it a quick blip when alongside your intended victim:drackula

'Y' Piece.

Hi,
put a Sebring 'Y' piece on my 1150 and it 'popped' as you shut off after giving it a bit of stick, it went on for about 2yrs untill I decided that the tickover was low and raised it to about 1100-1200 rpm, never done it since.
Cheers,
Bob.

...hence, less differential pressure, no sudden loss of back pressure and no pop. This fits in with the instances that I have heard it pop, and occurs when shutting off after a hefty handful!

Sounds like a good idea. I'll try it.

Cheers
