When I bought my 1150GS second hand about a year ago, I also acquired the above. Not being technical a) is it worth fitting b) if so are there any drawbacks and c) do you need to reset any thing - I told you I wasn't technical - if so what and how.

also it's now out of warranty - does anyone know of an independant in the Durham area?

a) Most definitely.

b) No.

c) No.

Took me less than 10 mins to do the job. 5 of them to lift the cat out the way!

Undo the clamps under the cylinders, undo the clamp under the heatshield at the bottom of the can and the bolt holding the can onto the hanger. Remove can, undo 2 allen bolts at the bottoem of the cat and remove the cat with extreme predjudice.

Replace cat with Y piece Haynes stylee (reverse of removal).

Ride and enjoy. It's even better with a Titanium Remus race can & BB chip. WHeelies, Officer, naw this is a BMW you MUST be mistaken!

Hello:) ,take care refitting the exhaust can bolt back into the bike frame.
Easy to crossthread it :)
enjoy the backfire:D
Dont forget the refit of the "lambada sensor "
:D

enjoy the backfire

Thanks for that Colt Ive just had a Y piece fitted and after "machine gunning" my way to Bridgnorth etc I was about to ask Is it normal to pop and crackle?
And yes I do enjoy it

Just the Remus and Y piece thing this morning . No bolts were seizes, and all in all it was a piece of piss - it took about 1hr to do.

And it as made a huge difference .... mainly mid range ...

Yippee

Try VTS (V-Twin Services) at Consett. Sorry I don't have the number to hand. It's a guy called Mark Raine who was a mechanic at M&S for quite a few years (including I think, when they sold BMs?). He's an excellent mechanic, I'll be taking my GS there once the warranty period has ended (nothing wrong with Mill, I'm just tighter than a duck's bum at 60 fathoms :D )

just do the bolts up bit by bit, if you force the thing to fit apparently you could end up with a crack in the Y-piece , so Ive heard (more than once).

i've had the y piece + stock can on mine since i got it.

put a remus revolution on it yesterday and installed steptoe's cat code link mod.

i know it's not supposed to do much for power, but i'd swear the bike's going much better now. i keep trying to change up when it's in top, it pulls so hard.

could be i'm just keeping it in the sweet spot for the noise of course :D

i want to get it dyno'd to check fuelling but local guy can't do such sophisticated stuff. anyone know somewhere in easy rech of bournemouth that can produce a fuelling chart?

ps. as photo shows, it links 5 & 6, not 5 & 0. there is no 0.

the old boys eyesight must be going ;)
