For Sale Yamaha FJR 1300 2006

Does this FJR have ABS ? I know it was introduced in 2004 but not sure if that was an option or on all FJRs from then.

Leedude03 is right. The FJR has great linked brakes with ABS that are easy to maintain. The bike comes with a bit of kit for servicing that actuates the ABS after for example you change the brake fluid whilst stationery. This FJR actually has EBC discs on all round brakes stronger than the standard version with EBC Double H. I understand you could get earlier bikes without ABS but never seen one without ABS of this generation. Unlike other famous competitor bikes you get none of this "ABS by-passed malarkey"

I am pretty sure that as off 2004 (I might be wrong here and stand to be corrected) all bikes had to have ABS fitted as standard. Even my then 2004 125 (12.5bhp) Honda scooter had ABS.

Anti-lock braking systems (ABS) on motorcycles became compulsory in the European Union for all new bikes over 125cc on January 1, 2016 (and for existing designs on January 1, 2017).

Anti-lock braking systems (ABS) became mandatory in the U.S. on September 1, 2011

I knew I’d be wrong 😂. Thanks Lee.

Considering the system existed a very long time, it is rather strange to think that it was only 10 years ago that it has become mandatory.

ABS has improved greatly.
I still recall my 1150 activating the system and the slow pulse as it turned the brakes more off than on as I was still proceeding rapidly towards the scene of an accident🫣

Looks a lot of bike for the money especially with the upgraded suspension.

Ding-Dong cheers you are bang on it is a great bike and done precious few miles 28430 far fewer than vast majority of newer FJR's. FJR's no matter what the generation are essentially the same. I deliberately chose this model as it is in the sweet spot of refinement without the none essential stuff. Folks whittle about a bike shock horror with only 5 gears, they all do circa 155 mph anyway. SIx gear models have had gearbox issues and there was a major global recall. They were trying out the BM approach by letting the poor paying punter trial the new gearbox in the field. The 5 speed box is pretty much bullet proof of course discounting the dick head factor Ha Ha.

5 speed box is brilliant. Due to the power in the bike there are less gear changes.

Having been sorting a secondhand car out for a mate and seeing how the vast majority of folks fail to look after their vehicles, including bikes many of which are described as brilliant and excellent I am surprised this FJR has been snapped up when it is head and shoulders above loads of newer stuff advertised and they are not as capable or as reliable and will not have the maintenance this bike has had, all for the price of a kak Asian bike, no names no pact drill that would not pull the skin off a rice pud Ha Ha.

Apologies in case I’ve missed this, but does the bike come with panniers? I ask because there are no photos showing panniers and I have only skimmed the other posts.
By the way, this is an absolute bargain!

Longdog the bike does indeed come with mint condition colour matched panniers. I did mention it in the blurb. I will send a pic if you give me your e-mail address cheers WM.
