Our grandson is planning on getting a little scrambler type bike for his lad (4 year old) so I suggested something like the PW50.

Anyone got any advice around this topic and/or anything that might fit the bill?

Not yet sure what budget we might be looking at.

To be fair a rough one is £800/£900 when you can get a new one for £1,850. Also look at DRZ50/70 rare bikes but hold their money I picked one up for £1,200 that’s never been used.

At age four I’d probably go for an electric Oset trials bike they are easy to ride and silent so they don’t draw attention in the way a petrol bike does. My lad used to ride his when we were out walking the dogs etc and as long as you are sensible no one gave a second glance.

thanks, it clearly had been shown lots of love :)

Good call

yes my grandson has a Revvi bike that he loves. he has had it a year with no problems. there's very few places to ride petrol bikes and he can ride this anywhere he goes on his push bike. I would love to buy him a QR50/PW50 but it just isn't a practical for us . plus it's a lot cheaper all-round .

At 4 definitely look at a revvi or an Ossett. The revvis in particular are a lot lighter and easier to ride and less intimidating than a petrol bike so will build confidence quicker. They are a game changer for little ones.

Thanks all, I’ll check out your recommendations. 👍
