Yamaha ThunderAce

i still have my thunderace and would not sell it as the performance is equal to a hayabusa but at a fraction of the cost mind you the engine has been tweaked for a wee bit extra 165 bhp.
p.s. went to the Nurbergring ring last year and the bike will see the other side of 180mph on the clocks 178 mph gps read out.

I remember showing 145 on the clocks of a TRX 850 when my brother came past me waving his fingers as if to indicate he was doing 152 on the thunderace. Seeing as he whizzed past like I was standing still I quizzed him about his alleged 152.

He said "Dickhead it was 170, but I couldn't exactly take both hands off the bars could I" :D:D:D

Great bike. Even if it doesn't run, it's worth more than that in bits. I'll have if you don't want it Droopy :thumb

I think Laughing Gas's Combo is based on a Thunder-ace, and he seems to be enjoying it's Power and having too much fun to post a lot nowadays :thumb2

Been a bit busy enjoying the T/ace outfit, just as you say Proff, so only just found this thread :blast (that and just starting back at work after 8months off,& court case about little LG etc)

If Droopy really has got the chance of a t/ace for £100 I'll buy it off him for twice that (but I've just caught up on the suit fiasco......so it's probably bull on his part :augie)

I loved my 1100GS and would have another at the drop of a hat (any other GS and I'd have to think about it :D), but if you asked me to choose between the outfit and any GS I'd have to go for the outfit. 130mph flat out with no one in the chair, or 120mph with a fat daft twat like buckles sat in the outfit. parts are cheap(ish) compared to the BMW equivelent, performance is miles better even pulling the extra weight of a chair, carries more luggage(crates of beer).....only problem is that it doesnt do unmade roads :(.

So droopy, if you honestly have the chance of a T/ace for £100 I'll give you £200 for it, and dont worry about p&p, I'll collect. I've still got my NOS system from my old GS, can get a foooookin big bottle of NOS in the outfit, but could do with a spare engine to refurbish so that I can prep it for NOS without taking the outfit off the road.
Thunder, if you,ve got any advice on improving the T/ace performance I'm very much interested :thumb2 Clutch area especially.
